Terms of Use
Buttonwoods Campers Association Effective date: June 29, 2026
Welcome to the Buttonwoods Campers Association website (the "Site"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") explain the rules for using the Site. The Site is operated by the Buttonwoods Campers Association ("BCA," "we," "us," or "our"), a community association in Warwick, Rhode Island. By visiting or using the Site, or by logging into a member account, you ("you") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About this Site
The Site provides information and resources for the Buttonwoods community, including news and updates, an event calendar, information about our committees, and — for logged-in members — a member directory, Association documents, meeting minutes, and related materials. Some areas of the Site are open to the public; others are available only to members who have signed in.
2. Membership and accounts
Member accounts are created and issued by the BCA. There is no public self-registration. If you are eligible for a member account, you will receive an invitation to set up your login and choose a password.
When you have an account, you agree to:
Keep your password confidential and not share your login with others;
Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date;
Use your account only for your own household's access to the member areas; and
Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or remove access to any account at our discretion, including where these Terms are not followed or where a person is no longer eligible for membership.
3. The member directory and member materials
The member directory and other member-only materials (including documents, meeting minutes, and contact information) are provided for the personal, non-commercial use of BCA members and the operation of our community.
You agree that you will not:
Use the directory or any member contact information to send commercial solicitations, advertising, or unsolicited mass messages;
Copy, export, scrape, sell, publish, or redistribute the directory or member materials to anyone outside the BCA community; or
Use any information found in the member areas to harass, intimidate, or harm another person.
Please treat your neighbors' information with the same care you would want for your own.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree to act respectfully and lawfully. You will not:
Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or the systems or networks connected to the Site;
Upload or transmit any virus, malware, or harmful code;
Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security features; or
Post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes the rights of others.
5. Content and intellectual property
The content on the Site — including text, logos, graphics, the BCA name and branding, documents, and design — is owned by the BCA or its contributors and is provided for the use of our community. You may view and use Site content for personal, community-related purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use Site content for commercial purposes without our permission.
If you submit content to the Site (for example, material provided to be posted on a news or community page), you confirm that you have the right to share it and you grant the BCA permission to use and display it on the Site in connection with community activities.
6. Accuracy of information and event schedules
We work to keep the Site accurate and current, but information may contain errors or become out of date. Event dates, times, locations, hosts, and details are subject to change or cancellation, and some details may be tentative or to be confirmed. The Site is provided for general information and convenience, and you should not rely on it as the only source for time-sensitive details. We are not responsible for decisions made based on information on the Site.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and handle information. By using the Site, you consent to the information practices described there. The Site uses third-party services to operate, including website hosting and member-management tools, which may process information as part of providing those services.
8. Third-party services and links
The Site relies on third-party platforms (such as our website host and member-login provider) and may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as shared calendars or external documents. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service's own terms and policies.
9. Disclaimers
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Buttonwoods Campers Association and its officers, board members, committee members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
11. Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Suspension and termination of access
We may suspend or end your access to the Site or the member areas at any time, with or without notice, including if you violate these Terms or are no longer a member of the community. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Rhode Island, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
14. Contact us
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact the current BCA Executive Board President.
