“The Point” on the 3rd of July, 2026
If it feels like there's always something happening around Buttonwoods this summer... you're absolutely right! It has been an incredible season filled with new traditions, familiar favorites, community gatherings, and plenty of fun. None of it would be possible without the amazing volunteers, organizers, and residents who continue to make our association such a special place.
Summer So Far:
We kicked off the summer in glowing fashion with our Glow Party featuring DJ Nick! The hall was transformed with blacklights and everyone dressed the part for a fun-filled evening.
Our first Yard Sale, replacing the auction, was a great success. Thanks to everyone who donated, shopped, and volunteered, the BCA raised over $400! All remaining donations were picked up by the VA so they could continue helping others.
The Tea Party featured delicious food and wonderful company, while our Paint the Town event brought families together for colorful chalk art, bubbles, and an ice cream social. Our kiddos also enjoyed Story Hour in the field, featuring books, freeze pops, and a dance party. The volleyball court has seen some great games this summer, and we'd love to see even more people come out and play!
Movie Night kicked off after a community vote selected Mrs. Doubtfire as our first feature film, and Trivia Night brought out a great crowd answering tough questions.
We brought back our Craft Fair, where our talented campers (along with a few local vendors) showcased beautiful handmade items and unique treasures. Thank you to everyone who came out to support them!
This summer also brought some exciting upgrades to the hall. Thanks to the purchase and installation of new speakers in the hall, our events sound better than ever. We also introduced a brand-new portable speaker and microphone system, which has already made several karaoke nights a hit.
Our 10-Week Club fundraiser is officially underway, and we've already had three lucky winners of $100 Visa gift cards:

Weekly activities continue to bring neighbors together all summer long. Whether you're joining us for Hi-Lo Jack, Game Night, Coffee Hour, Bingo, or our rotating Friday Night Games featuring bocce, horseshoes, and cornhole, there's always an opportunity to connect with neighbors and enjoy some friendly competition.
We're also excited to welcome a new weekly wellness activity: Chair Yoga. Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional sessions on Saturdays when the hall is available. It's been a wonderful addition to our schedule and is open to all ability levels.
Looking Ahead to August:
Live music in the field returns on Saturday, August 9, featuring Chuck Augenti, with the Willy Waffle Food Truck serving up some tasty treats.
Get ready for a unique summer movie experience with an outdoor showing of Jaws on the West Side Beach on August 12.
Our always-popular Penny Social will be held on Friday, August 15. Please note - we are starting a little earlier this year at 3:30 PM.
One of the biggest projects we've been looking forward to is finally here! Our new playground is scheduled to be delivered and installed on August 17, and we'll celebrate with a Grand Opening on Saturday, August 22. We can't wait to see families enjoying this wonderful new addition to our community.
We're thrilled to welcome back Future Dads on August 29 for another great night of live music.
We're also trying something new with a Lunchtime Deck Crawl on August 30. Visit neighbors, enjoy great food, and spend the afternoon together.
An Update from the Labor Day Committee:
Planning is already well underway for our biggest weekend of the year! The Labor Day Committee has been meeting to review this year's schedule and make updates to several of our races. We're excited about some fresh ideas and improvements, and we'll be sharing more information very soon. Stay tuned!
